A Rose is a Rose is a Rose

Roses, authenticity, everything which is yes.

“The rose is without why;  it blooms
simply because it blooms.
It pays no attention to itself,
nor does it ask whether anyone sees it.”
~~Angelus Silesius

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make
you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
~~Ralph Waldo Emerson

“To be nobody but
yourself in a world
which is doing its best day and night to make you like
everybody else means to fight the hardest battle
which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.”
― e.e. cummings

“I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.”
― e.e. cummings

Photo is of the oldest rose in my garden, one that my mother-in-law planted many years ago. I don’t think I’ve seen a more perfect rose. But, I probably always say that.
